MAR EPHRAEM EXTENSION SERVICES

      All teaching and non-teaching faculty members of Mar Ephraem College of Engineering and Technology joined their helping hands together to form Mar Ephraem Extension Services. Mar Ephraem Extension Services do various charity activities to the nearby community as well as rendering their helping hands towards economically poor students and staff of Mar Ephraem. Mar Ephraem Extension Services helped HOM- School for Mentally Retarded at Kuzhithurai and EMMAUS- Rehabilitation Centre for Mentally ill Women, Ummancode, Mekkamandabam. It also contributed Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund for the Flood during the year-2015 in Tamil Nadu.

EPHRAEM MANNA

      "Ephraem Manna" sprouted when the students of Mar Ephraem came forward to help their peer group those who are in need of monetary support. "Manna" means an unexpected but welcome gift. The motto of Ephraem Manna is "For the students and By the students". At first "Ephraem Manna" was presided over by Mr. Aby Chacko of Final year Mechanical. Now it was handed over to Mr Ajin Tom Thomas of final year Civil . The accounts are maintained by Mr. Prince Chacko of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Every month money has been collected from the students and deposited in the Ephraem Manna account. In case of any support needed, the Ephraem Manna forum generously lend the helping hand to the needful students.

NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME

      The National Services Scheme was introduced in our college from 2014 prescribed by the National Services Scheme of the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Department of Youth affairs and Sports, Govt. of India. The NSS unit in the college benefits the students by encouraging them to participate in Services for the society such as Blood donation, Cleaning of surroundings, Creating awareness among the general public.

Activities:

  • AUGUST 2016 - Awareness Program on Vermicompost and Organic Fertilizer
  • FEBRAURY 2017 - Vazhode Village Adoption, Pond Cleaning

RED RIBBON CLUB

Vision:       To make HIV/AIDS free India by creating awareness about the spread and cause of HIV/AIDS among the student youth, non-student youth and public.

Objectives:

  • To reduce new HIV infection among youth by raising their risk perception through Life Skill Education and creating awareness on Sex, Sexuality and HIV/AIDS.
  • To induce the spirit to help and support people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) among youth & thereby reducing stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS.
  • To motivate youth and build their capacity as peer educators and change agents by developing their skills on leadership, negotiation and team building.
  • To promote voluntary non- remunerated blood donation among youth

GREEN AUDIT

      A Green Audit Cell has started to function from the 1st of February 2017 under the leadership of Mrs.Shijula Lindry,AP, School of Science & Humanities in our college. The members of the cell are

Audit:

      Green audit was conducted by a team of members from the HEAL organization externally under three main categories namely Bio-diversity audit, Water audit & Energy audit. The report highlighted our campus as "GREEN ENVIRONMENT CAMPUS".
