We instituted the best library user award. The procedure for selecting the best library useris as follows.
Books Usage
(10 Points)
The selection of the awardees will be based on the number of books borrowed from
the central library in a semester and the priority will be given for borrowing technical books.
The members (staff/students) who will borrow more than 20 books in each semester will be
awarded 10 credit points. ( ie. 0.5 points will be awarded for borrowing of each book)
Journals Usage
(4 Points)
The selection of the awardees will be based on the number of print journals
that are reviewed/referred in a semester from the central library.
The members (staff/students) who will review/refer more than 8 print journals in a semester
will be awarded 4 credit points. ( ie. usage of one journal will be awarded 0.5 points)
E- Journals Usage
(3 Points)
The selection of the awardees will be based on the number of e-journals
downloaded/reviewed/referred in a semester from the central library.
The members (staff/students) who will download/review/refer more than 6 e-journals in a
semester will be awarded 3 credit points. ( ie. 0.5 points will be awarded for the usage of each e-journal)
NPTEL Videos Usage
(8 Points)
The selection of the awardees will be based on the access of NPTEL Videos in a semester from the central library.
The members (staff/students) who will access more than 8 NPTEL videos in a semester
will be awarded 8 credit points (ie. One point will be awarded for accessing a NPTEL video)
Library Visiting/General Reading
Library visiting/General reading hours will also be considered for selection of the awardees.
If the above criteria points are same for more than a member, then the library visit (Login) details
will be counted and the final awardees will be selected according to their attendance.
The points will be counted from the commencement of the regular classes of
every semester to the last working day of that semester.
